What is the difference between Lean Leader and Lean Practitioner / Expert / Master?

Lean Leaders & Practitioners participate in the same training course. Lean Leaders plan and co-ordinate lean business strategy. Lean Leaders are not certified competent in implementing Lean projects. (Coaching and certification costs do not apply) Lean Practitioners are certified as competent based on effectively using and implementing Value Stream Maps, Identifying Wastes, 5S, Visual Management and at least one other Lean project of choice.

To be certified as competent, Lean Practitioners will:

  • Sit an online or paper based Lean exam
  • Receive 2 x 2-hour online / onsite coaching and assessment sessions per person or per project (Coaching session #1 at two weeks post training & session #2 at three months post training)

  • Have a maximum time of 12 months to submit project evidence for final certification

Lean Experts will be certified after completing the Lean Practitioner requirements, including the implementation of 2 other Lean projects.
